About Me

About Me

I am a Licensed Clinical Psychologist who has been in private practice since 2005. I graduated Summa Cum Laude with a Bachelor's degree in Psychology from the University of Colorado, Boulder. I continued my education at the University of Denver where I earned my Doctoral degree in Clinical Psychology.

I have worked in outpatient clinics, inpatient settings, schools, and residential treatment centers. During my training, I specialized in working with children and adolescents with anxiety, depression, learning disabilities and executive functioning challenges, including Attention Deficit Disorders. This specialty also included psychological assessment/testing. Additionally, I have facilitated group therapy for children/adolescents with social skills deficits.

I also specialized in the treatment of trauma and Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder associated with sexual abuse, physical abuse, and emotional abuse. This work included the treatment of adolescents and adults who had experienced sexual assault, providing individual therapy as well as group therapy treatment modalities.

My internship was at the University of Denver Health and Counseling Center where I worked with college and graduate students presenting with a diverse range of challenges, including learning/academic issues, social issues, anxiety, and depression.

During my post-doctoral training, I worked in local emergency departments conducting psychiatric consult/evaluation of acute psychiatric issues to evaluate for inpatient admission.

In my experience with school settings, I have worked with high school students, addressing a range of issues including academic challenges, social issues, anxiety and mood disorders. In that capacity, I helped with short-term counseling, appropriate referrals, school interventions, and staff education. I have also served as a board member and consultant at a school specializing in the education of K-8 students with learning differences.

My Approach

My Approach

My approach is individualized for each patient and their unique needs and goals. I incorporate various treatment approaches including psychodynamic/interpersonal therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy, acceptance and commitment therapy, trauma-informed therapy, EMDR, and dialectical behavioral therapy.

I see the therapeutic process as a relationship between you and I where we begin to explore one's patterns, relationships, strengths, and challenges. In such exploration, one can find a deeper understanding of oneself in order to move forward with a happy and productive life. My role is a partner, guide, and witness to your journey of becoming a more fulfilled you. I believe everyone is doing their best to survive and find happiness in their lives. Sometimes, our efforts can lead to maladaptive patterns. Therapy can help illuminate these patterns and guide you to develop new ones.

Most of my clients use their health insurance for a partial reimbursement for the cost of treatment. However, I am not an in-network provider with any insurance plans. I will help facilitate reimbursement by providing patients with a billing statement with all of the necessary information needed for patients to seek out-of-network reimbursement from their insurance providers. I recommend that clients who wish to utilize their health issuance benefits contact their insurance provider to determine if they are eligible for reimbursement prior to scheduling.

Cash, check and credit are accepted forms of payment. Payment is due at the time of service.
